Ellen Bechtel

Ellen is a senior product designer on the AI and Analytics team at Klaviyo, with a focus on data experiences, visualization, and storytelling. Before landing in the design world, she was a data journalist for the US Geological Survey, a climate science communicator, a bike mechanic, and general contractor––all of which might explain her fondness for understanding systems, fixing things, and making technical stuff feel approachable. She loves working where creativity meets technicalities and gray areas, and has strong opinions about using AI in ways that actually help people (not just bolting it on willy-nilly).
